Use this map plan to help you navigate the four floors and over 40 permanent exhibition halls and galleries at the American Museum of Natural History for your visit.
The Lower Level floor has the Scales of the Universe walkway at the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The school entrance is open for student groups using the subway to get to the museum from Monday through Friday between 10am and 2pm. The Lower Level entrance is also accessible for AMNH members and their guests. The parking lot has accessible elevators that you can use to get to the main entrance of the museum.
Floor 1 has all the entrances and exits to the Museum. The main entrance opens up to the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall, and the others open up into the Gilder Center and Rose Center. It houses multiple permanent exhibitions, the Exploration Atrium, the Discovery Room, and the Ellen V. Futter Gallery. You can find the Information Desk, escalators, multiple accessible restrooms, the Museum Shop, the Gilder Gift Shop, and Cafe on 1 located here. Floor 1 is also the starting point for all Guided Tours, which you can sign up for at the Information Desk located near the main entrance.

The majority of exhibitions on Floor 2 are from the Mammal Halls and the Human Origins and Cultural Halls. The Theodore Roosevelt Rotunda, the Cosmic Shop at the Rose Center, the Restaurant at the Gilder Center, and the Museum Shop are located here as well. There are two accessible bathrooms near the South American Peoples Hall and the Restaurant at Gilder, two ticket counters, and six elevators spread across the floor.

Floor 3 at AMNH has a mix of exhibitions that include the Bird Halls, Reptiles and Amphibians Halls, Mammal Halls, and Human Origins and Cultural Halls. You can also find a nursing room for mothers, two information desks, and two accessible bathrooms here.
Ticketed exhibits: Life at the Limits at Gallery 3, Invisible Worlds
You can find the Fossil Halls and all dinosaur exhibits on this floor. It also houses the Gilder Center’s Research Library and Learning Center, the Dino Store gift shop, and Cafe on 4. There are 3 accessible restrooms and an information desk on this floor.
